PAS 2030:2023 is the UK installation standard that governs how every energy efficiency measure must be fitted in a retrofit project. RetrofitScore delivers every measure on this list in-house — through our own certified installers and our trusted consortium of specialist tradespeople.

Core measure types
Wall insulation — the two primary systems
Wall insulation is the highest-impact fabric measure in most UK residential properties. RetrofitScore delivers both external and internal systems — the design choice is always confirmed by our in-house retrofit designers following the property survey.
Exterior solution
External wall insulation (EWI)
Applied to the outside face of solid-wall properties. Dramatically reduces heat loss while refreshing the building facade — the highest-impact insulation measure for pre-1919 UK housing stock.

Interior solution
Internal wall insulation (IWI)
Fitted to the inside face of external walls where EWI is not possible — listed buildings, conservation areas, flats, or structurally constrained properties. Significant heat retention without altering the external appearance.

How we deliver
From site survey to system handover — fully managed
Every Solar PV and ASHP project follows a disciplined end-to-end process — designed to ensure the right system is specified, installed correctly, and performing as expected from day one.
Retrofit assessment
A qualified Retrofit Assessor surveys each property — capturing condition, occupancy, energy performance, and structural data. A full Medium-Term Improvement Plan (MTIP) is produced to BSRIA and PAS 2035 standards, confirming which measures are viable and in what sequence they should be installed.
Retrofit design
Our in-house retrofit designers specify each measure — system type, target U-values, thermal bridging at junctions, ventilation strategy, and any planning or conservation requirements. A fabric-first sequence is always applied before any heating or renewables are confirmed.
Pre-installation checks
Before any work begins, our teams carry out structural checks, cavity wall camera inspections where applicable, planning and conservation confirmation, and a pre-install site visit by the Retrofit Coordinator. Tenant engagement begins at this stage — every occupant is briefed and any vulnerability flags are recorded.
Installation
PAS 2030:2023 certified installers carry out all works to the approved design specification. RetrofitScore's in-house teams cover all major measure types — supported by our consortium of specialist tradespeople for complex or multi-trade installs. All works are carried out cleanly, safely, and with minimal disruption to occupants.
Technical inspection & sign-off
Following every installation, a Retrofit Coordinator carries out a full technical inspection — confirming the work meets the approved design specification and PAS 2030:2023 requirements. Any snagging is resolved before the property is handed back to the occupant.
TrustMark lodgement & funder submission
All measures are lodged to TrustMark on completion. DESNZ, Salix, and ECO4 submissions are managed by our coordination team — on time, correctly formatted, and complete. Post-install performance monitoring continues against the design targets confirmed at assessment.
Residential funding
ECO4 & LA Flex
RetrofitScore is a fully approved ECO4 delivery partner — coordinating fabric installs across all obligated measures. LA Flex broadens eligibility criteria to reach more households that don't meet the standard ECO4 means-test.
Social housing funding
SHDF & Warm Homes Local Grant
We've delivered fabric improvements across Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and Warm Homes Local Grant programmes for local authorities and housing associations — managing all submissions from survey to close-out.
